A seven day safari will take you to Tanzania’s best areas for wildlife viewing. Extra time will allow you to see several lakes and add on cultural visits.
Lake Manyara is ideal for viewing birdlife with over 400 species. Ngorongoro is the largest intact crater in the world abundant with wild game including elephants, rhinos, cheetahs, lions, leopards, and hyenas. Tarangire is a beautiful park filled with Baobabs and Acacias with a large variety of game such as zebras, elephants, giraffes, and waterbuck.
You will also visit the Serengeti, Tanzania’s most famous and largest national park and one of the most spectacular parks in the world. The “endless plains” cover some 14,763 square kilometers including large plains, short grass plains, kopjes, and lakes.
Visiting: Lake Manyara or Tarangire
Drive 3-4 hours from Moshi to Lake Manyara or Tarnagire with lunch enroute and afternoon game drive.
Visiting: Tarangire, Karatu, Lake Eyasi, or Lake Natron
Option #1: Hiking in Ngorongoro Conservation Area in the morning and cultural tour/hiking in Karatu area in the afternoon.
Option #2: Lake Eyasi to visit the Bushman tribe.
Option #3: Drive to Lake Natron, afternoon activities.
Drive 3-4 hours to the Serengeti. Afternoon game drive around the Seronera area.
Full-day game drive in Serengeti, lunch at Visitor’s Center.
Visiting: Serengeti, Ngorongoro
Drive Serengeti to Ngorongoro with game drive en route. Optional visits to the Olduvai Gorge and Maasai village.
Half-day game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater.
Visiting: Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro, or Karatu then Moshi
Option #1: Tarangire or Lake Manyara, morning game drive.
Option #2: Hiking in Ngorongoro Conservation Area in the morning and cultural tour/hiking in Karatu area (coffee plantations, waterfalls, Iraqw tribe, orphanage, etc.) in the afternoon.
Afternoon, return to Moshi via Mto Wa Mbu and Arusha.
